Unable to Access Project Portals from Visual Studio or Directly entering the URL


hi,

we've installed tfs 2008, created out own process templates , seems have been working fine. can create tfs projects using our templates , standard ones.

however noticed couldn't access project portals via visual studio, option grayed out! if tried access portal site directly entering in url share point returned informing didn't have rights access site.

i have noticed when looking @ group membership dialog, , clicking on windows sharepoint servers site administration link following error returned:

'the team foundation server not locate online site administration application team project portal in windows sharepoint services. cause of error language settings on team project portal not match current language of visual studio client. location of site administration specific language of project portal. contact team foundation server administrator availability information of site administration project portal. more information, see windows sharepoint services administrator's guide'

it's confusing, i've seen blogs around language settings being potential causes, i've checked , appears fine.

can help?

  please check 'documents' node @ team explorer.

  there 'red cross' icon on it?
 
  can expand documents node?


  there several steps can try.

         1. change user account, please check account can used create team project.
             does account work?

         2. please check wss site setting.

             how to: verify or correct port assignments
             how to: verify or correct ip address , domain name restrictions

         3. try reset the wss site roles.

                         how to: set team foundation server administrator permissions
                         how to: set team foundation server project lead permissions
                         how to: set team foundation server contributor permissions
           
           good luck.

SQL server replication error Cannot find the dbo or user defined function........

hi there, i ran problem while deploying sql 2008 transactional replication between 2 servers lets assume server , b. actually created  both distributor , publisher on server , after created subscriber pointed server b, launch replication monitor , found big red cross. when click on tab "distributor subscriber history" error says "cannot find either column "dbo" or user defined-function or aggregate "dbo.ufnleadingzeros", or name ambiguous". can body regarding issue. regards, ishuv hi, you need compare data , others reseved, index size, unused should not compared. differs. here server - data - 87896 kb server b - data - 78152 kb server data size includes publication tables, can't compare directly. need check article article know exact data size.
