Failure to connect to server access denied not a valid user


i error don't know do.  have been through 2 different tutorials. first 1 came microsoft sql server management studio , other found on-line (http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/4/f/74f85fd1-c1f2-453a-ae90-452abab1234c/med302_msdn_sql_mobile.doc)

 

but keep having problems.  got far, stuck. 

i sql newbee.

 

the message on new subscription wizard is:

falure connect sql server provided connection information.  sql server not exist, access denied because sql user not valid user on sql server, or password incorrect.  hresult 0x8000r005 (29060)

 

i using user name sa , password password, fails. 

do have add user sql server mobile (how?) or sql server?

do have set permissions?

i running on xp professional, sp2 wiith ms sql server management studio version 9.00.1399.00

any appreciated.

i figured out.

 

the tutorials assume c drive shared tell use machine name everywhere instead of c drive.    if c drive not shared agent cannot run.

 

my company not share c drive security reasons. 

 

i had go replication -- local publication right mouse click , select properties; under snapshot change location of snapshot files; select put files in following folders; type c:\ [sharedfolder]  (e.g.c:\snapshot)

 

once did , ran agent worked charm.

SQL server replication error Cannot find the dbo or user defined function........

hi there, i ran problem while deploying sql 2008 transactional replication between 2 servers lets assume server , b. actually created  both distributor , publisher on server , after created subscriber pointed server b, launch replication monitor , found big red cross. when click on tab "distributor subscriber history" error says "cannot find either column "dbo" or user defined-function or aggregate "dbo.ufnleadingzeros", or name ambiguous". can body regarding issue. regards, ishuv hi, you need compare data , others reseved, index size, unused should not compared. differs. here server - data - 87896 kb server b - data - 78152 kb server data size includes publication tables, can't compare directly. need check article article know exact data size.
