Why my empty string is showing as a NULL value in the database?


hello

in source table, have columns firstname , lastname, both of datatype nvarchar. in dataflow, created 2 new derived columns mapped these 2 columns. when pushing data source, noticed firstname column had value of null while lastname empty string (for rows did not have value)

my question is, why source table column firstname showing null value when derived column datatype string , source string? should showing empty string right?

the problem resolved. did not change (strange), reran package , noticed firstname column blank if no data instead of value null

SQL server replication error Cannot find the dbo or user defined function........
