first time user.

i ran discovery report after installation of sql express 2014.  there no instance or instance id. not see services running. when launch management studio not know server name entry.  want connect can load database , run through training course.

firstly, please make sure select sqlexpradv package or sqlexprwt package install sql server express 2014 download link. these 2 installation packages contain sql server database engine , sql server management studio (ssms), them, can load database make test.

secondly, please make sure sql server 2014 express installed successfully. can post summary , detail logs analysis if fail install it. default, logs can found in: c:\program files\microsoft sql server\120\setup bootstrap\log.

thirdly, after installing sql server 2014 express, can check if sql server service running using sql server configuration manager.

SQL server replication error Cannot find the dbo or user defined function........

hi there, i ran problem while deploying sql 2008 transactional replication between 2 servers lets assume server , b. actually created  both distributor , publisher on server , after created subscriber pointed server b, launch replication monitor , found big red cross. when click on tab "distributor subscriber history" error says "cannot find either column "dbo" or user defined-function or aggregate "dbo.ufnleadingzeros", or name ambiguous". can body regarding issue. regards, ishuv hi, you need compare data , others reseved, index size, unused should not compared. differs. here server - data - 87896 kb server b - data - 78152 kb server data size includes publication tables, can't compare directly. need check article article know exact data size.
