Read MS SQL 2000 backup file without restoring the database


i want read data backup file of ms sql 2000 without restoring database backup file. based on data selected manage further functionality such restoration of backup file.
is possible read data ms sql 2000 backup file without restoring? if yes please let me know how?

i don't think can read data without restoring backup file...................also need restore entire backup file , after restoring can choose data need..........may if have db take backup before restoring backup (overwrite) , choose data , if needed can export , once again restore original backup of db...........

SQL server replication error Cannot find the dbo or user defined function........
