SQL 2005 unexplained error when opening recordset or multiple sets
to can me
we have application written in straight asp, upgraded our sql database connecting application sql 2000 2005 here issue
currently sql 2005 located in our test , uat environments, sql 2005 not clustered in either location. let me make clear problem not happening in our test environment, repeat problem not happening in our test enviroment, problem happening in our uat enviroment
each enviroment outfitted following sql 2005 environment, enterprise edition sp1 cumlative hotfix package 2153 siss fix only
now problem this, have vb program located directly on server has sql 2005 on vb program inserts timestamp table inside database, how happens program connects database , opens recordset forwardonly cursor , inserts timestamp
now exact problem vb program cannot open multiple recordsets, error received labled this
odbc driver error 8000405 shared memory sql doesnt exist or accessed denied,
now here interesting part, again not happening in our test environment, vb program again on test sql server , has forward cursor , inserts fine
now if move vb program out of our uat environment onto server inserts record onto sql server fine, opens recordset , operates normally, both servers have exact same permissions
can me understand whats happening here
one note, when changed cursortype forward-only keyset worked fine doesnt explain things
why work in test did changing cursortype isnt answer
