stuttering performance


hi

installed sql express on 2003 sbs - installed fine - usual config of enabling tcpip etc. problem application (vb6 ado 2.8) intermittently fails open connection database. i'm pretty sure network connection not dropping out etc.

it fails in startup of app - opens , closes quite few connections - have feeling not releasing connections pool ?


we've installed many sql 2000 , sql 2005 clients , works fine....

i tried changing provider in connection string sqloledb sqlncli didn't @ all.

the sbs server has 2 gig ram.


i had install onto workstation temporary workaround - but  need working satisfactorily server..

any ideas ?  heeellpppp

hi bruce,

could give specific error getting when connection fails? have pertinent section of error log occurance of failure.

SQL server replication error Cannot find the dbo or user defined function........

hi there, i ran problem while deploying sql 2008 transactional replication between 2 servers lets assume server , b. actually created  both distributor , publisher on server , after created subscriber pointed server b, launch replication monitor , found big red cross. when click on tab "distributor subscriber history" error says "cannot find either column "dbo" or user defined-function or aggregate "dbo.ufnleadingzeros", or name ambiguous". can body regarding issue. regards, ishuv hi, you need compare data , others reseved, index size, unused should not compared. differs. here server - data - 87896 kb server b - data - 78152 kb server data size includes publication tables, can't compare directly. need check article article know exact data size.
