hi all,

i posting information believing save someones time. using sql server reporting services 2008 r2, objective generate reports bu connection sql server services 2008 r2. observed below error while trying use 'test connection' in report builder.

'unable connect data source. please verify connection properties , credentials.'

'the connection either timed out or lost.'

we exactly don't know reason issue, have accidentally figured out solution issue. (a permutation , combination approach)

used qualified domain name ssas server name in 1 environment , used strictly server name(without fqdn) in environment. 

both of them working differently in 2 cases, working fine. issue resolved no error.

SQL server replication error Cannot find the dbo or user defined function........
