encryptor_type column in sys.dm_database_encryption_keys

hello,

on sql versions can see column named encryptor_type in sys.dm_database_encryption_keys indicates if databases dek encrypted either certificate or asymmetric_key.

bol indicates column not exist on versions have sys.dm_database_encryption_keys.

this quite useful when have mix of certificate , asymmetric key encryption.

whats real story column, introduced in 2012 , remain on future editions?

thanks
dan
