Hardware upgrade for Distributor

hello everyone,

i have been given new hardware server of mine distributor in replication topology.  going from 32-bit sql 2008 standard to 64-bit sql 2008 standard, , server name need same when upgrade done.  new server , running (with different name), , 'setup' possible migration quick possible.

what steps need take to ensure replication start synchronizing left off when take server offline upgrade?

i thinking...

1. shut down , disable sql services on current server.
2. rename new server needed name.
3. windows copy of databases old server new server.
4. attach user databases.
5. start replication agents.

is possible?
is there anything missing?
will attaching distribution database work?
what happens of sql agent jobs needed replication?

thanks in advance.

i forgot mention of database files on san drives, makes me wonder if can use upgrade path.  can i...

1. configure new server , create databases on current server.
2. disable sql services , shut down new server.
2. disable sql services , shut down the current server.
3. use san mirror of database drives on current server, including drives the system databases reside on.
4. once mirrors caught up, break mirror , attach copies to new server (keeping same drive letters).
5. start new server, rename needed name.
6. enable , start sql services.

will work (remember, going 32-bit 64-bit)?  if so, think easier/faster hardware upgrade.
